Satellite based ISDN Satellite M4 Terminal from Thrane & Thrane
The Capsat® Messenger from Thrane & Thrane is a truly portable
ISDN, voice and data satellite system supplying you with a high-speed
data transmission rate of up to 64 kbps. By connecting various plug
& play applications the high-speed data rate and the Euro ISDN interface
opens up for a world of possibilities. From the most remote places
you can browse on the Internet, connect to your Local or Wide Area
Network, transmit real time and store & forward video, send pictures
and broadcast quality voice. The Capsat® Messenger also offers
you the choice of using the low cost Mini M service including voice,
fax, and data at 2,4 kbps.
The Capsat® Messenger uses Inmarsat's
Global Area Network Service (M4) which was introduced to meet the
increasing demand for mobile capacity. It enables users to bring
their ISDN environment from their offices to anywhere in the world.
The Capsat® Messenger will fully support the revolutionary Inmarsat
Packet Data Service (IPDS), available end of 1999. With the IPDS
users are only charged per transmitted and received amount of data
and not per minute. The unit is cased in a magnesium housing making
it ideal for the rugged outdoors and the compact antenna is easy
to unfold and deploy and can be positioned up to 70 meters away
from the main unit. The unit is delivered to you in a lightweight
and sturdy bag with separate rooms for cables, batteries, and other
accessories. It has a weight of less than 5 kg and despite the advanced
technology used in the terminal Thrane and Thrane A/S has not compromised
on the ease of use.
As an example, set-up can run on your computer
and uploaded into the terminal via a user-friendly Windows based
software program. You
need never again depend on landlines or local networks as the Capsat
Messenger will get your messages through. The terminal has
the following interfaces: Euro ISDN, USB, two RJ11 jacks for fax
and phone, standard RS 232 interface, PCMCIA interface and audio
ports for headphones and tape input. The high-speed data rate of
the Capsat Messenger and the Euro ISDN interface makes it possible
to browse on the Internet, connect to your Local or Wide Area Network,
transmit real time and store & forward video conferencing, send
pictures and broadcast quality voice. |
